Good news and bad news

Good news…I got into VONA!
Bad news…I was accepted for a different week and a different class than I requested. So I’m passing. Maybe next year…

Good news…We got all the planting done!
Bad news…The same little girls who have asked me daily for the past month, “Are we gardening TODAY???” pretty much bailed after an hour or so of work. To them, gardening means sticking sends in the ground and playing with the water hose. All that digging and shoveling and hauling is for the birds.

Good news…We planted pumpkins, basil, tomatoes, peas, green beans, gladiolas, and a sunflower mix.
Bad news (I think)…Last night and this morning’s heavy, heavy rains may have caused some seeds to float away. Stay tuned…

Good news…Mini-Me played an awesome violin duet, “Ida Red” with her teacher at this year’s spring recital
Good news…Along with her teacher and two other students (on violin, guitar, piano and vocals), she also performed the grand finale (I song whose name escapes me at the moment…)

Good news…BabyGirl played in her very first recital! She played “Old McDonald” twice.
Good news…After her triumphant performance, she jumped off the piano bench and curtsied dramatically and repeatedly using her shawl as a prop, thus proving that it is possible for an opening act to completely steal the show.

Mini-Me and BabyGirl ROCK OUT LOUD! How great, that they not only had recitals but they really made the show their own.

Isn’t that what being a Mama is all about? :)

  2. deesha Says:

Thanks, Christine! It was indeed a proud, teary Mama-moment.

I’m loving the two good news/good news items.

Actually, making the loving and awed and then loving and laughing out loud at.

    Kudos all round!

    I meant to say:

‘make that loving and awed and then loving and laughing out loud at.’

    It’s late over here…
