Do they serve mojitos in Oz?

So I had this dream last night. I was at Kelly’s, this local bar with Franziskaner on tap and strong mojitos, and a jukebox featuring Nico/Velvet Underground, Johnny Cash, and the Geto Boys, but no Top 40. In the dream, I was with friends, old and new, and a good time–complete with macaroni and cheese, and fries with lots of hot sauce–was had by all.

And–oh, Auntie Em–in my dream, this place was a real, truly live place. And writer Junot Diaz, recently crowned winner of a National Book Critics Circle Award (for his novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao) was there. And you–and you–and you–and you were there.

Doesn’t anybody believe me?

How’d you get a picture? I viewed the subject as photophobic…

“Curiouser and curiouser,” said Alice with a shake of her head. The Mojitos confounded her. She forgot her “pleases and thank you’s,” How bad-bad, rude and anti-British. Smack Alice on her hand. Then smile and say,

    “Cheese. Tee hee. MojiiiiiTO!

By the time you arrived, he was rolling his eyes about the pics, totally over it. I had asked for a pic, and he couldn’t fathom why (but nicely), and then had the nerve to clown my camera phone (but nicely). At which time, A. whipped out a REAL camera, and he indulged us for a bit. So, his photophobia with you was about earlier shenanigans, not you. ;-)
