But I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Badu live, in a small venue (she crowd-surfed and her butt was in MY hands!), prior to the release of "WU." She previewed material from that album--with her trademark disclaimer, "Y'all know I'm an artist and I'm sensitive about my shit"--and I have to say that what showed up on the album wasn't as tight as what I heard that night. For example, the trance-like, "I Want You" had people in the crowd looking at each other like, "Wow...y'all feel that?"
