As a grown up child of the sixties, and as a middle-aged white woman, and as an independent voter, and a mother of sons, and a person who works with the next generation everyday, last as an American yearning to be free as I believe was meant to be as M.L.K. inspired my youth to see all of the little children red, yellow, black ,white and brown together learning, playing laughing and all getting the chance to have a voice, rich or poor,I find I must vote for Obama to be true to my generations best hope,a truely United States of America. Please read Mother's Day Proclamation by Julia Ward Howe. My first desire over anything is to vote for Peace ,Barack was the only one I noticed who said no to Iraq before it had a chance to begin ,he thought for himself and us ,as I was alone thinking the same thoughts without a voice and he spoke, thus representing my soul and still does. If he were a woman would you pick him over Ms. Clinton, yes!

Not in my name indeed. I reject any brand of feminism that would have me compromise my intellect, my conscience, my integrity, and my individual freedom to vote where I please. And for whom? For Hillary? What do they take me for? My vote is my own my own my own and I will resist every sister who will have me betray my own heart. Obama for this Korean-American feminist. Oh yeah, and I'm over 40 too. Take that too, Gloria!

Can it be that we are smart enough to vote for the person that we think will move us past what we have been experiencing for the last seven years? THe best candidate is the one that stirs my soul.

Obama. I was sure about him when he was the Keynote Speaker at Kerry's convention. He moved me to believe that government does not have to be the menace I see it as now.

Womanist until I die, Clinton does not move me!

Not sure why anyone would think that voting for Clinton is the only sensible thing for women to do. Margaret Thatcher didn't necessarily change the lives of women for the better. In fact, it's amost as if she had to prove she was as tough as the lads! To her credit, though, her route to political leadership wasn't through family dynasty, as implied in the article.

I like to think that lack of a penis is just as silly a requirement to be president as the possession of one. I wish that more feminists realized that. Since I wouldn't support Clinton's policies if she were a he, why should I support her?
