This reminds me of:

the australian woman who did exactly the same job as me and who asked, in earnest, if I missed playing around in the bush...

And:

the investment banker who said I brought to mind graceful gazelles grazing in the savannah...

I kid you not - these are both true anecdotes. And all because my background is Nigerian... Sorry, I mean AFRICAN!!</description>

You had me thinking of that book by the British gentleman, "Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency," I think it is called.  Even though it was a very "positive" portrayal, it still oozed colonialist attitudes.</description>
