It’s a blog!

You know how babies aren’t exactly fun to look at when they are first born? Like, a-minute-old? Unless it’s your baby, in which case you declare her the most beautiful thing you ever laid eyes on, but honestly, when you look back at the birth photos when she’s about three-and-a-half-years-old, you marvel at what a cutie pie your little alien has grown up to be. Well, that’s how I view this blog. It’s kinda homely right now. Puffy-eyed, nothing to write home about design-wise. But it’s here, finally, and it’s mine.

Hopefully it won’t take me years to get some bells and whistles going. I already know that this Plain Jane theme has to go. I just am not tech-savvy enough to figure it all out in a reasonable amount of time. So as we speak, teams of techies are working to make this site more…Mamalicious! (Well, okay, ONE sweet techie man in particular…and as I type, he’s sleeping).

In the meantime…Welcome! Please post a comment, a question, a dare. Come back again. Tell a friend. Repeat.

What can you expect? Commentary on newsworthy stuff, pop culture, parenting, some personal, some political, race matters, books and the people who write them.

I read a lot of blogs, but this is my first real one, so I’d appreciate any suggestions and words of wisdom from all you veterans. Also, I’ll thank you in advance for your patience through the growing pains.

I do expect to mix it up, cause controversies and down right offend everyone of your readers if they don’t think the same way I do politically. Naw, just kidding. Anyway thanks for the baby alien thing. Mine should arrive here on earth in about 8 weeks (sans the anal probes) Good look Sis. I do expect great things from you.

To answer your question…It’s a word I made up. On my IM status message, if I am busy with my kids, I put up a notice that says “Mamalicious”, and my IM friends know the deal. :-)
